Kris Dunn has been a prospect linked to the Timberwolves for months now. A pure point guard out of Providence, who withdrew from last year’s draft to play his senior season. This actually helped his draft stock, as he developed more as a player.

Dunn has won the Big East Player of the Year and Big East Defensive Player of the Year the last two years in a row. He excels on the defensive end. Having a long wingspan allows him to affect point guards and average a lot of steals. He would be a prospect that Thibodeau would love due to his defensive ability, but not his shooting ability.

A comparison that Dunn has received from some media outlets is to John Wall. That comparison is not the most accurate, as Dunn’s downfall is shooting. Especially shooting from the line where he posted a .659 free throw shooting percentage last season. Most people want to write off Rubio as he is a below average shooter, but replacing him with another below average shooter is not the biggest upgrade.
