After an amazing rookie campaign, Karl-Anthony Towns has been named to the NBA 2K Team Cover.

To say that people are taking notice of Karl-Anthony Towns’ amazing talent is an understatement. After earning the Kia Western Conference Rookie of the Month award every month during his rookie season, and eventually the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year award, Towns has been named as part of the NBA 2K Team that will be featured on this year’s cover.

It seems like Towns’ fame has just started. He was on the national stage as a teen at Kentucky during their historic season. Then he became the number one pick in last year’s NBA Draft. From there he took the NBA by storm putting up one of the best rookie seasons ever. Next he was named the Rookie of the Year and the publicity that comes with that. The next day he was the Minnesota Timberwolves representative and the NBA Draft Lottery. Now this, being named as one of the faces of the NBA on the it’s top selling video game. Soon he will be a household name and we will see more Towns jerseys all over the place.

The expectations for Towns might sound like a lot, but after seeing the talent that he has over the last season it is not unwarranted. Towns has the opportunity to be the next Kevin Garnett in terms of impact on this franchise. They are totally different players, but he could have the same impact on the team.

Towns light beamed so bright last season that people seemed to forget about Andrew Wiggins and the amazing season he put together last year. That will tell you exactly how much talent this kid has.

This is a huge honor for Towns, as he is barely twenty years old and will be gracing a video game cover with some of the games best. Let’s hope he can live up to these high expectations, which there should be no doubt that he can, and take this franchise to the next level.
