This offseason, Andrew Wiggins has decided to keep his focus on working on his own game for the 2016-17 season.

Andrew Wiggins, 2015 NBA Rookie of the Year winner, can see the upcoming opportunities in front of the young Minnesota Timberwolves team. He can see what they are building. With a new coach, new vision, and pieces around him, the team is destined to make a huge jump next season.

This offseason, Wiggins has been in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to work on his three-point shot and shot mechanics with Drew Hanlen of Pure Sweat.

Pure Sweat also has Timberwolves shooting guard Zach Lavine as a client, as well as ex-Timberwolves forward Anthony Bennett, Bradley Beal, Jordan Clarkson, and Dwight Howard.

Wiggins seems to be putting in the work again this offseason to become a better pro and polishing certain areas of his game. Last offseason he was the headliner for the Canadian National Team in the FIBA World Games. This offseason, Wiggins will be staying back from the Olympic Qualifying Games to work on his game.

Here is a statement Wiggins gave about forgoing the Olympics to workout this summer.

"After much thought, consideration and speaking with my family, I will not be participating in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament with the Canadian Men’s National Team in July. As my third NBA season approaches, I understand my increased role with the Timberwolves and dedication to the upcoming season must have my total focus. We are building a championship contending team, which has always been my goal. This was definitely not an easy decision and I fully support and wish Team Canada nothing but success this summer"

It looks like Wiggins knows how important this offseason will be to the upcoming season. He knows what this team is capable of with the talent they have and the coaching they have in place.

Zach Lavine has been selected to the USA Men’s Select Team and train this offseason with the USA Men’s National team, helping them prepare for their upcoming competition. This is a great opportunity for Lavine to workout with the NBA’s elite.
