Minnesota Vikings Announce Training Camp Schedule
With Minnesota Vikings Mini-Camp playing out right now, the team has announced their training camp schedule as well as some joint practices with the Cincinnati Bengals.
We are right in the heart of the 2016 NFL offseason and the Minnesota Vikings are on their last day of mini-camp. Today they announced their training camp schedule for the team at their practice facility in Mankato, Minnesota.
The training camp has been an event that Vikings fans have loved to attend for years. Training camp will be an interesting one this year, as there is so much talent on this roster that it is a given that talented players will be cut by the end.
The preseason starts with the Minnesota Vikings playing in Ohio against Head Coach Mike Zimmer’s old team the Cincinnati Bengals. There have been many connections between these two teams since Zimmer took over the Vikings head coaching job. Every offseason since, the Vikings have been linked to Zimmer’s former Bengal players in free agency. Over that period of time Zimmer has swayed a few players to the Vikings roster such as Tom Johnson, Emmanuel Lamar, and Andre Smith.
The fun starts a few days before the Vikings first preseason game in Cincinnati, as the Vikings and Bengals will be holding joint practices. This is always a must watch event as the players are finally wearing pads and have the first opportunity to play against someone other than their own teammates. It seems that every offseason we hear about a fight breaking out at these joint practices somewhere around the league.
Here is the full training camp schedule.
