At Game 6 of the NBA Finals last night, Karl-Anthony Towns was in attendance and was interviewed at halftime with the NBA TV Crew.

Karl-Anthony Towns, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, was in attendance for the NBA Finals last night. At halftime, he was interviewed by the NBA TV crew. he had some interesting things to say about his offseason work and the upcoming season.

Towns was asked about the influence that Kevin Garnett had on him last season. Towns mentioned how blessed he was to be mentored by Garnett this season. He talks about how Garnett taught him a different philosophy to the game and how to be a professional.

Towns was asked with all his skill sets, what is he working on this summer? He mentioned that he is working on all his aspects of his game, but he has added some new facets to his game and he is excited to show them to the world but as of right now they are a secret. Towns has one of the most complete games we have ever seen from a rookie big man. It will be exciting to see what he has added to his repertoire.

Towns was asked about the potential, goals, and chemistry that the young Minnesota Timberwolves have. The first thing he mentions is the unity that the team has. This is one of the main reasons that this team should not be broken up in an attempt to sign a big name NBA veteran. He mentions it is a very exciting time to be a Minnesota Timberwolves player and a fan.

Towns is asked about his expectations for the upcoming season with all the talent they have and a new coach. Towns first said that the expectations they have are to make the playoffs. Towns said they have the talent, and the coaching staff to do so.

Towns was asked about beating Golden State earlier this season. He says you must make sure someone is on the ball at all times. He then says you must make sure that you do not let Golden State control the pace. You must dictate the pace. He mentions one of the keys to the win was getting rebounds, and getting second chance points.

Asked what was the one thing in his rookie year that was easier than he thought. He mentions that he thought the physicality of the NBA would take a lot more wear and tear on his body. He mentions the amazing trainer Arnie Kander, who is now not on the new Wolves coaching staff, and how he helped him feel refreshed every game all season. Kander will be missed as one of the premier personal trainers in the NBA.

Towns mentioned one of the hard things about his rookie year was keeping up with the speed of the NBA. He mentions that having Kevin Garnett to teach him the ropes did wonders for him.

He is setting the bar high for this young Minnesota Timberwolves team, but with the talent they have and the coaching staff they have in place, those goals should be attainable.
