Minnesota Vikings: Observations from Mini-Camp
Adrian Has High Expectations
Adrian Peterson is entering his tenth NFL season. Throughout that time, he was part of the loaded 2009 team, but otherwise has not had much to look forward to coming into the season. He comes into camp this year with high expectations and is not afraid to talk about it.
Peterson thinks this team has the pieces to compete for a Super Bowl. He knows what this team is capable of. He knows how close they were to moving on to the next round of the playoffs last year. He said the defending NFC North Champions should not be shy about their goals.
In yesterday’s press conference, Peterson was talked about his personal goals for the upcoming season.
"“I am excited as far as what we have and the vision that we have for this season, so that will make it a lot better going into camp this year.” “We have a long was to go, but we have the pieces of what it takes to accomplish that. So there’s nothing wrong with saying it. If any other guy on this team don’t feel that way, we should trade him and bring somebody in that feels that[we can win a title]. We all know what we are trying to accomplish, and I feel like we have what it takes.”"
Setting the bar high this season, Peterson shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He has come to camp in great shape spending the offseason in Houston working out with fellow teammates Tom Johnson and Danielle Hunter. Peterson is so excited for the upcoming season he has talked about wanted to take preseason snaps, something he has not done in years. Zimmer said he might let him get a couple of snaps.
