Everson Griffen Lead the Vikings Defense with Work Ethic

Everson Griffen has been known as the vocal leader for the Minnesota Vikings defense for a couple seasons now. His hard work, blue collar attitude keeps him in the right mindset and ready to put in the work to get better every day. He uses that same attitude to push the other Vikings players too.

Griffen thinks that this year’s Vikings defense is the best one he has seen since entering the NFL in 2010. The former fourth-round pick has always played with a chip on his shoulder, and that has helped him become the player he is today.

Asked about this Vikings defense and how good they are Griffen had this to say.

"“I can say that (we’re a good defense), but we have to come out here and work,” Griffen said. “Our defense can be superb and great, but it’s us to up to work at it each and every day.”"

Head Coach Mike Zimmer is known for loving high character guys who are leaders. Griffen is that exactly. When asked about Griffen, this is what Zimmer had to say.

"“This kid works hard; he’s a grinder, he wants to be great,” Zimmer said Tuesday. “He loves the competitive part of the game, the physical part of the game, and he’s a tremendous athlete that can do an awful lot of things."

Griffen will look to have another double digit sack season this year. He is known for putting pressure on NFL Quarterbacks and having other pieces around him that are dangerous only helps take some of the attention off of him. Having Linval Joseph, Sharrif Floyd, Brian Robison, and up and coming Danielle Hunter on the line with him, must make opposing teams nervous.
