After winning the WNBA Championship last season, the Minnesota Lynx roster and staff visited the President at the White House today.

The Minnesota Lynx are the newest WNBA dynasty. After last season’s WNBA Championship win, making them the champions in three of the last five years, the team made their third visit to the White House to be honored by President Obama himself.

This ceremony was in honor of the WNBA Championship the Lynx won last year. Being in town to play the Washington Mystics last night, the team made a stop at the White House today.

President Obama makes jokes that with a number of times that the Lynx have been to the White House in recent years to celebrate their WNBA Championships, it should be their house. Lindsay Whalen spoke at the podium cracking jokes with the President.

All in all, today was an amazing day for the Minnesota Lynx players. Last night was a different story.

After starting off the season 13-0, the Lynx fell to the Sparks first. This loss was not alarming as the Sparks are just as talented of a team as the Lynx and were also undefeated prior to their first meeting with the Lynx last week. Last night the Lynx suffered their second consecutive loss and second loss of the season to the Washington Mystics. The Lynx ended up losing by 24, to a team that is a middle of the pack squad in the WNBA.

The Minnesota Lynx take their honorary day today, and then must refocus as they play a talented New York Liberty team next. The Liberty lead the WNBA Eastern Conference and are in third place overall. Besides last night’s game, the Lynx are on pace to be in contention for another WNBA Title, but can they win in consecutive years?
