With NFL Training Camps set to start next month, some Minnesota Vikings players have been putting in the extra work to make this team a contender in 2016-17.

After Minnesota Vikings Mini-Camp, Head Coach Mike Zimmer said that many of his players had a good outing, but must stay in shape in their vacation time before training camp.

It looks as if the Vikings players know what they must do to stay ready for the upcoming season. Many of the Vikings players have not skipped a beat since leaving Mankato last month.

As we mentioned last month, Vikings Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater usually does his offseason work in his native state of Florida. Before Vikings Mini-Camp Bridgewater was working out with other NFL Florida natives Antonio Brown, Jarvis Laundry, and Odell Beckham. Another player who had been working out with that group was Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes.

Last week, Bridgewater held his second session of what Vikings wide receivers call the “Teddy Two Gloves Passing Academy.” Bridgewater gets the Vikings wide receiving corps to meet in Florida in an attempt to build trust between himself and his receivers.

This time around, Bridgewater again has elite wide receivers to throw to in Antonio Brown and Jarvis Laudry, in addition to his Vikings teammates Cordarelle Patterson and Stefon Diggs. This is a huge opportunity for Patterson and Diggs to learn from some top receivers. They will be able to see the work ethic that Brown has and what it takes to be the leagues best receiver. Brown is known for his ability to run crisp routes.

Another Vikings player who has been seen recently putting in extra work in his time off is second year cornerback Trae Waynes.

Trae Waynes, who had a red shirt rookie year last season, is looking to take the starting job opposite Xavier Rhodes this season. Waynes showed some promise in the snaps he played last season but with ageless Terrance Newman still playing at a high level, there was no reason to rush him onto the field.

Legend NFL wide receiver Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson tweeted yesterday that he would be working with Waynes and Bengals cornerback and Waynes former Michigan State teammate Darqueze Dennard.

Waynes getting some work with Johnson, who was known for his footwork, speed, and route running, will be a good learning experience for the young corner.

It looks like the Minnesota Vikings players know what is on the line this season. If they can take a step forward from last season, there is no doubt that they will have a chance to make a deep playoff run. Training Camp will be interesting. In Zimmer We Trust!
