Since becoming an international sensation, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Moritz Boehringer has not let the stardom get to his head.

As we witnessed during this year’s NFL Draft, new Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Moritz Boehringer instantly became a huge international storyline.

Coming from Germany, Boehringer became the first international player to be drafted without any college football experience. Another reason this became a great story was Boehringer’s love for football and how he became fascinated with the game.

Boehringer’s first experience with American football was watching a video of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. His favorite team since then has been the Vikings. He mentioned it being a dream come true being drafted by the franchise.

Heading into camp, Boehringer has a lot of ground to cover to make a name for himself and make the final cut for this roster. Wide receiver being one of the Minnesota Vikings roster holes last season, they drafted two in this year’s draft. They are also getting Charles Johnson back from injury, and we have seen the reemergence of Cordarrelle Patterson.

This will be part of the roster in which it will be hard for a player to break in to. Boehringer has his work cut out for him, and it seems that he is putting in the work to make a push for a spot.

When you enter the Minnesota Vikings training facility, you will see luxury cars of all kinds. Even first round rookie wide receiver Laquon Treadwell treated himself to a new black Range Rover on his birthday during Vikings team organized activities.

Boehringer who is living in America for the first time, has not bought himself a car yet. He walks to the facility and back home everyday. Boehringer lives three miles from the Vikings facility. Boehringer is walking six miles everyday, on top of working out with the team.

"“The main reason why I walk everywhere is because I don’t have a car because I wanted to save money,” Boehringer said. “Every morning I just walk to the facility, and in the afternoon I walk back.”"

Boehringer’s rookie deal has a guaranteed amount of $150,000. Purchasing a nice car would be a decent chunk of that money.  He mentioned that his girlfriend thinks he is crazy, because like most Americans, she drives everywhere.

Now that training camp has started, Boehringer is staying in the team dorms, so his walk is not quite the commute it used to be.

Boehringer will have to give in sooner or later, as the Minnesota winter is not the nicest climate to walk six miles everyday. Boehringer is as modest as an NFL player can be, and it seems that he is taking advantage of his time in Minnesota, as he mentioned earlier he already has an American girlfriend. If you see Moritz Boehringer with his thumb out walking toward the Minnesota Vikings training facility, offer him a ride.
