Minnesota Vikings: Saturday night lights at camp
By Ryan Palmer
The Minnesota Vikings spent their Saturday night underneath the lights of Blakeslee Stadium. Players and coaches were joined by family and close friends, which included 10,123 screaming fans.
To break the monotony of morning walk-thrus and afternoon practices all week, the Minnesota Vikings held an annual night practice at Minnesota State. All in an effort to amp up the players focus leading into the start of preseason football.
The practice session was immediately followed by a fireworks display, but the real action took place on the field.
Teddy took some shots-shots-shots… downfield
Unlike myself at 23 years old, Teddy Bridgewater was taking shots of a different kind. On his first deep ball Bridgewater connected with Stefon Diggs for a 40 yard TD completion. Diggs electrified the crowd with the grab, setting a good tone for the receivers all night.
Teddy seemed in rhythm with Laquon Treadwell throughout the session. Bridgewater looked sharp on some intermediate throws to our first rounder. So far the duo seems to be clicking, with Treadwell seeing a lot of work in camp early.
Adam Thielen may receive key to the city (if he already hasn’t)
Adam Thielen did not disappoint his college home crowd at Blakeslee Stadium. Mike Zimmer noted that Adam can line-up at any receiver position, versatility and a willingness to learn have given Thielen a chance to prove himself.
On Saturday he proved that he can make a 50- yard catch, while diving and maintaining possession. Not a bad way to spend a weekend night.
Blair Walsh seems to have recovered
Walsh looked good, hitting 6 of 7 field goal attempts and a PAT. Blair has looked solid all summer, Minnesota Viking’ fans are keeping their finger’s crossed.

This defense should give you goosebumps
Everson Griffen is looking un-blockable. (insert Matt Kalil joke here) Seriously, Griffen may break Jared Allen‘s single season record of 22 sacks. The Minnesota Vikings will have one of the best defensive fronts in the league, too many talented people to block.
The Vikings put in a nickel package that had Griffen, Tom Johnson, Brian Robison (DT), and Danielle Hunter getting after the QB. Good luck to any team that faces us on third and long. Not to mention Sharrif Floyd will be in the regular season rotation.
It will be a banner year for Mike Zimmer’s nasty bunch of defenders. Buckle-up Minnesota Viking fans!
