As the NFL season approaches, it has always seemed as if the Minnesota Vikings have had one of the better fanbases in the NFL. Not according to this survey.

As we approach this year’s NFL season, the guys over at CBS Sports did a power ranking for all the NFL team fanbases. There were some surprises on this list.

After a great season last year, the Minnesota Vikings fanbase has to be more excited than ever for the potential of this team. With a new stadium, and a young team filled with talent on both sides of the ball, you would think that they would have a high ranking on this list.

With fans coming out to games in negative temperatures, with beer freezing and snot icicles hanging from fans mustaches, most would think that the Vikings have some of the most dedicated fans in the NFL.

Not to mention how loud the old Metrodome used to get. You would leave there with a ringing in your ears for 10 minutes on your way to your car.

On this list of NFL fanbase rankings, of course “America’s Team” came in first. The Cowboys have always had one of the larger fanbases in America. Next was a two way tie between the Patriots and our border rival Packers.

Mostly I expected the Vikings to come in around 10 in the rankings. They have the Vikings at 22. This is sad. Football might be the biggest professional sport in Minnesota. The fanbase seems dedicated.

Here is what they had to say about the Vikings and their ranking.

"22. Minnesota VikingsIf Vikings fans proved one thing in 2015, it’s that they don’t need Ragnar’s help trying to figure out when to cheer at home games. After the team decided to dump Ragnar prior to the 2015 season, fans responded by creating a homefield advantage that helped the Vikings go 6-2.Of course, sometimes being a Vikings fan can be a real kick in the face.Famous fan you should know: Josh Duhamel. The Transformers star is such a big Vikings fan that he stopped by U.S. Bank Stadium this summer to make sure that the stadium project was on schedule. Basically Vikings fans, you can thank Duhamel that the stadium opened on time."

This is just a reminder that we as Minnesota Vikings fans must show the rest of the NFL and the national media that we are some of the most dedicated and one of the best fanbases in the league.

Seeing as what heartbreak we have been through over the years, and the fact that we still support this team, should be enough to show our dedication.
