Minnesota Timberwolves will Play on Christmas Day
All aboard the hype train! The Minnesota Timberwolves will get their first primetime Christmas day game ever.
As the NBA schedule will be released in a few short hours, Minnesota Timberwolves fans were crossing their fingers in hope of the team getting slotted in for a Christmas day game.
With the team surrounded with hype, the Timberwolves have one of if not the brightest future in the NBA right now. With back to back Rookie of the Year award winners in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, back to back Dunk contest winner Zach Lavine, consistent role players Gorgui Deing and Ricky Rubio, and top 5 pick Kris Dunn, the Timberwolves will be a fun team to watch this season.
When the NBA releases it’s schedule every year, fans are most excited to see the Christmas Day game schedule as it is the best lineup of games all season. A lot of Timberwolves fans were hoping that this year’s team had gained enough steam to make the Christmas day schedule.
There had been rumors of the Timberwolves playing the Bulls in a Thibodeau revenge game. There were also rumors of the Timberwolves playing the Bucks or the Lakers in a battle of the young up and coming stars.
Now it has been confirmed that the Minnesota Timberwolves will be playing on Christmas day and who will they be playing, their Northwest division rival Oklahoma City Thunder.
This will be something huge for the Timberwolves as they are starting to gain traction and will be playing on a national stage on the NBA’s biggest scheduling day, Christmas Day.
This should be great news for Glen Taylor and the other owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise.
It is a great time to be a Minnesota sports fan. Christmas will be a great holiday in Minnesota as the Minnesota Vikings play their border rival Green Bay Packers on Christmas eve and now we know the Minnesota Timberwolves will be playing the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas day.
