The Minnesota Vikings opened up their preseason with a great win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Laquon Treadwell led the team in receptions, showing off the hard work he has put in during the summer.

It’s only the beginning of preseason so I’m trying to keep my emotions in check, but what a great performance by the Minnesota Vikings’ offense to kick things off.

The o-line had its challenges run-blocking at times, however after the first series Teddy Bridgewater and company looked decent taking some shots downfield.

The main receiving target of the evening was Laquon Treadwell. Treadwell hauled in a team high four receptions for 41 yards.

Treadwell showed his worth starting in the second quarter. Kicking off his NFL preseason debut with an eighteen yard reception from Shaun Hill.

The first rounder gave Minnesota Viking’ fans something to salivate over, a physical presence that can move the chains. Everything we expected and then some.

The athletic megaquon’s short game should just be a taste of what we can expect. Critics questioned his speed coming out of college but keep in mind Laquon was limited by injuries most of last season, and still led the SEC in receiving in 2015.

The Ole Miss‘ standout brings a quality to the Minnesota Vikings that hasn’t been seen in years. Athletic, fast, physical, great hands, and perhaps the hardest working player in his position group.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to come up with comparisons. John Taylor, Michael Irvin, Cris Carter, all great, but Laquon Treadwell will make his own name in the NFL.

We all know it’s too early to start sculpting his bust for Canton, but now is the time to dream of things to come. It’s called the preseason for a reason, but Treadwell seems to have that “it” factor.

During joint practice sessions Wednesday and Thursday Laquon Treadwell wanted a challenge, encouraging Bengals veteran CB Adam Jones to not take it easy on him. Amazing. I’ve never read about Cordarrelle Patterson wanting to be challenged.

That’s the difference between a first rounder that excels and those that flutter in the NFL breeze, Treadwell wants to be great.

Fantasy football enthusiasts should take notice, Laquon Treadwell might be a draft day sleeper pick. I know one owner that will be rolling the dice on number 11.
