Teddy Bridgewater primed to lead Minnesota to Super Bowl
By Ryan Palmer
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off what some have called a mediocre showing against Cincinnati. Mediocre? Teddy Bridgewater’s performance should have Vikes’ fans feeling giddy.
There is no doubt Mike Zimmer will have his defense humming before week one. The real story early on has been Teddy Bridgewater‘s progress throwing the ball.
It’s all coming together… (Insert evil genius laugh here.)
“But it has only been one preseason game,” you say. True, it is a small sample of work but we all should like what’s happening on offense.
Rick Spielman, Mike Zimmer and the rest of the purple think-tank have had a great track record in regard to their decision making abilities over the last few seasons. A top level defense is in place, and now it appears the offense maybe catching up.
The hard work Bridgewater has put in over the summer is paying off early. Being able to stretch the field vertically has always been a knock on Teddy, but you have to be smiling after Friday night.

It seemed like a jail break for the Bengals during the Vikings’ first series on offense, forcing a quick three-and-out. The second time Teddy got his gloved hands on the football was a different story. Buried inside the twenty, the situation seemed dire. Then something magical happened.
Teddy Bridgewater’s arm got his team rolling.
After trying to dink and dunk there way out of trouble, Teddy Bridgewater started to let it loose. I’m not talking about the 49- yard bomb to Charles Johnson, Adam Thielen‘s 22- yard snatch was what told me a lot about how far Bridgewater has come.
Hanging tough in the pocket, Teddy took a chance and pulled the trigger. Thielen had to go up to get the ball, but it was a great throw nonetheless, downfield. Adrian Peterson was cheering the loudest.
What if opponents can no longer stack the box against Minnesota’s running game? Yards per carry and total yards would improve without a doubt. Vegas already has Peterson slotted to repeat as the NFL rushing champion. Can the 31- year old crush last season’s amazing totals?
Teddy Bridgewater’s progress will have a positive correlation on everyone around him. Year number three is shaping up to be Bridgewaters best.
Through free agency, excellent drafting and player development the Vikings are on the verge of greatness. Teddy Bridgewater’s improvement will only solidify what Spielman and Zimmer have known all along.
