Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson in Line for Top Fantasy Season
With many doubters, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson should be in line to have another productive fantasy football season.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is coming into his next NFL season. He proved many doubters, and father time wrong with his statistics in fantasy football last season.
Coming into this season, Peterson will be at age 31. Many are waiting for him to experience a massive drop off as many running backs do at that age.
Peterson is a different kind of athlete though. He can not be compared with many, if any other athletes we have seen before.
Last season, Peterson was coming into the regular season after a year off. Many thought his time was finished. Looking back it seems that his “vacation” gave him some extra spring in his step last year.

Peterson finished the year as the NFL rushing champ, leading the league in yards with 1465. He also finished the year tied for the most rushing touchdowns.
This season, the Minnesota Vikings look to take the next step in becoming a legitimate contender and they will need a strong year from Peterson to do so. Who are we do doubt him though? He has put together some of the best seasons ever at his position.
Peterson is one of the last “bell cow” backs left in the NFL. Most teams are going with a running back by committee approach now a days.
Last year Peterson finished the year with 327 carries, which was almost 40 carries more than the next rusher. It looks as if the Minnesota Vikings are not going to change their approach this coming season.

It looks like you can expect 20 carries per game from Adrian Peterson, says Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
That is a good sign for fantasy footballers, as Peterson is the type of back who can carry your team through the season and should be able to get enough work to do so.

Let us hope that the Minnesota Vikings offensive line play is improved and that should help Peterson flourish as well. Last year with the leagues second worst offensive line play statistically, Peterson still could not be stopped from grabbing his third NFL rushing title. Look for him to do the same this year.
