Minnesota Vikings: Kendricks Named DPOW, Color Rush Jerseys Released
In a defensive show in week 1, the Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. We have also learned what the Vikings Thursday night Color Rush jerseys will look like.
Coming into week 1, there were a lot of questions surrounding the Minnesota Vikings. Most were about their quarterback situation.
Another question was how would second year linebacker Eric Kendricks play. Kendricks missed the preseason with an injury. Would he be rusty, or need a game to get the week 1 jitters out?
After watching the Vikings offense not being able to score a touchdown, and the Vikings go down 10-0 early in the first half, most Vikings fans were panicking.
After halftime we saw what usually happens coming out of the second half gate. Head Coach Mike Zimmer made the right adjustments to get the team on track.
On a Titans offensive possesion, defensive end Everson Griffen put a juke on the Titans left tackle. Griffen was free and going straight for Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mariota decided to pass to his check down.
Spying Mariota’s eyes, linebacker Eric Kendricks jumped in front of the pass and made the interception. Kendricks took it to the house 76 yards for the Vikings first touchdown, and what seemed to be the momentum changing moment of the game.

Kendricks showed that he had no rust to shake off. This morning he was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. This is Kendricks second time winner this award, and he is the fifth Viking to win it since Zimmer has been head coach.
Kendricks looks to take another step forward this season and assert himself as one of the best linebackers in the NFL. Last season he led the team in tackles.

The Vikings are going with an all purple jersey, with purple pants, and yellow lettering. It is sharp if you ask me. It is nice to see a little variation to the Vikings color schemes that have been the same forever.
