Stefon Diggs: Rising Superstar That Everyone Doubted
Throughout the offseason, most said the Minnesota Vikings biggest offensive roster hole was a true WR1. They must have forgotten about Stefon Diggs.
After last nights game, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs is leading the NFL in receiving yards. Diggs caught 9 of his 11 targets, for 182 yards and a touchdown.
It looks like he has developed great chemistry with new acquired quarterback Sam Bradford, although it was their first game playing together.
Diggs has the speed and precise route running skills to get seperation with any defender. He uses head jukes and footwork to gain the advantage on opposing defensive backs. His catch radius is huge for his 6ft, 190 lbs. frame.

All offseason most fans were calling for the Minnesota Vikings to draft a top wide receiver prospect. The thinking was that the team was missing a legit WR1. Most thought of Diggs as the small, speedy wide receiver, but not the reliable threat that could pose fear into opposing defenses.
The Vikings did go out and use a first round pick on Laquon Treadwell, who has played 2 snaps so far this season. Treadwell will come along, and surely head coach Mike Zimmer is doing what he normally does with rookies and making them earn their playing time.
Diggs has proven everyone wrong. He has shown that he can be the number 1 target that the Vikings need. His athleticism sets him apart from the rest.
With Bradford looking like a capable, accurate quarterback, he should thrive with Diggs.
Diggs is not just an amazing player on the field. Two weeks back in the last week of the preseason, Diggs was seen playing catch with young fans on the sideline before the game. Last week in the season opener, which was played on September 11th, Diggs was seen sporting custom cleats that were in tribute to the tragedy. He was seen after the game signing his shoes and gloves and giving them to soldiers who were in attendence. Again last night, Diggs gave his game worn gear to fans on the way to the locker room.
Diggs is the perfect type of player for this team. He was written off as too small, and slipped to the fifth round of the draft. Diggs came in and got a chance when Charles Johnson went down with injury and shined. He is a hard worker, and represents the team well with the type of person he is.
