With a win yesterday, the Minnesota Vikings are still in line to get a chance at the post season, as long as they get a little help from some other teams.

Yesterday’s win kept the Minnesota Vikings in a good position to compete for a chance at the post season. Unfortunately we did not get any help from any of the teams ahead of us.

The Vikings played a great game, although the final score should have been a lot higher. The Vikings still had their issues on the 1 yard line. In two possessions, the Vikings failed to score from the 1 yard line.

That is an issue. Yesterday we did see more explosive plays from the offense, as there were three passing plays that equated to 40 or more yards. Vikings wide out Adam Thielen had a great game and is showing that the connection between himself and Bradford is a big one.

So going forward, what do the Vikings need to have happen to get a chance at the post season.

First off they will need to win out to have the best chance.

Here are the three scenarios:

Vikings win out + Lions lose out

  • Not unrealistic, Lions have a tough schedule.

OR

Vikings win out + two of the following:

  • Tampa Bay loses 2/3
  • Giants lose 2/3
  • Washington loses 1/3

OR

Vikings win 2/3, win against GB + 2 of the following:

  • Tampa Bay lose out
  • Giants lose out
  • Washington loses 2/3

So this should show you who to be rooting for, except the game next week between the Giants and Lions. That will tell you which of the two to root for throughout the rest of the season.

Next: Wolves Still Struggling in the Third Quarter

The main focus has to be to win out for the Vikings. They can not control what other teams do, only what they can do. Let’s hope it works out.
