K: Kai Forbath

P: Taylor Symmank

LS: Kevin McDermott

Kevin McDermott is a lock, having no competition.

I give Kai Forbath the advantage in the kicking competition over Marshall Koehn, although Koehn has the stronger leg of the two. Accuracy is most important though and Forbath has a track record of being accurate. In fact, he went 15 for 15 on field goals for the Vikings after replacing Walsh last season.

Finally, the punter competition is more up in the air, but I’d say the edge goes to Taylor Symmank over Ryan Quigley since the Vikings initially signed him to compete with Jeff Locke, if re-signed.

Of course, Locke left for the Indianapolis Colts, so the Vikings may have to rely on inexperience at the punting position again. Hopefully, with more success than Locke, who never amounted to more than a mediocre punter.
