The Minnesota Lynx bounced back in to the win column on Friday night.

The state of Minnesota has been on a buzz on the game of basketball for the last 24 hours or so with the Minnesota Timberwolves acquiring Jimmy Butler. The Minnesota Lynx tried to get their own sliver of the spotlight on Friday night with a home game against the powerful Washington Mystics.

The last time the Lynx were on the floor, they lost their first game of the WNBA season, but they bounced back on Friday night in St. Paul. The Lynx dominated the game by holding a lead from start to finish and defeating Washington by a 93-76 score.

Maya Moore kept her hot streak going after a cool start to the season for one of the best, if not the best, players in the league. Moore scored 18 in the first half alone and finished with 22 points in the game. She also had 11 rebounds and seven assists.

The favorite for WNBA MVP so far this season was back to MVP-like play. Sylvia Fowles notched a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson also hit double-digits from the Lynx starting five. Whalen had 12 points and Brunson contributed 11 points in a convincing win.

Washington is no team to sneeze at either. Washington currently sits tied for the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Mystics this season added a couple remarkable pieces such as reigning WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne. Delle Donne in the game on Friday night had 17 points and eight rebounds for Washington.

Tayler Hill led the Mystics in the scoring column from the Xcel Energy Center with a 21 point game. Kristi Toliver was the only other Washington player to break double-digits with 14 points.

Washington falls to a record of 7-5 with the loss. The Lynx improve to a 10-1 record and a 4-1 record at the X. The Lynx next play on Sunday at home against San Antonio. The game on Sunday is set for a 6:00 Central tipoff.
