Jimmy Butler has been named to the Fashionable 50 list
Jimmy Butler is so fashionable that he has been named to Sports Illustrated’s Fashionable 50 list.
Ever wonder who the most fashionable athletes in the world are? Well, don’t wonder anymore! Our friends at Sports Illustrated did the wondering for us and have recently unveiled their Fashionable 50 list. A couple Minnesota natives made the list along with new Minnesota Timberwolves wing Jimmy Butler.
For this year’s edition of the Fashionable 50, Sports Illustrated’s Jamie Lisanti collaborated with a panel of stylists, executives, journalists and other influencers in the fashion industry to rank the top 20. They group also gave out awards for the remaining 30 athletes.
No one in the Minnesota realm made the pure top 20 list, but instead all were given individual awards.
First off, former Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love made the awards list. Love was given ‘The Classic Man Award’. SI’s write-up on the Cleveland Cavaliers big man:
"“The Cavs are one of the NBA’s best-dressed teams and Love has definitely taken notes from his stylish teammates. His layered looks and his eye for timeless pieces even landed him a deal as a style ambassador for Banana Republic.”"
Minnesota native and former Minnesota Golden Gopher Eric Decker made the list. Decker was given ‘The I-Look-Good-In-Anything Award’. SI’s write-up on the Tennessee Titans wide receiver:
"“Decker admits that his wife, country singer Jessie James Decker, helps him put together outfits and pushes him to try new trends, but he makes that task easy for her. From a simple jeans and t-shirt look, to a suit and tie for away-game trips or red carpet appearances, Decker wears it all with ease.”"
We head to the slopes for the next Minnesota connection. Lindsey Vonn was given ‘The Confidence Award’. SI’s write-up on the World Cup alpine skiing champ:
"“Off the slopes, Vonn’s simple but sleek looks show off her strong physique. And no matter what she puts on, it’s always worn with confidence.”"

The obvious one on the list is Jimmy Butler. Butler was given the award titled ‘Mr. Always Fresh’. Butler told SI this about his fashion choices:
"“My style is not too crazy but I’m willing to go out on a limb here and there. My go-to’s are bomber jackets in different colors and Jordans by the dozen. I love designer pieces but also love my sneakers. I hate dress shoes!”"
So who in the world of sports is the most fashionable? That crown this year was given to the NBA MVP Russell Westbrook. You can find the rest of the list on Sports Illustrated’s website right here. The Fashionable 50 issue of Sports Illustrated is a double-issue of SI and hits your local newsstand or, if you’re like me, your mailbox starting Thursday.
