The most elite programming in ESPN history is coming with the new show ‘Being P.J. Fleck’.

If you are currently curious about Minnesota Golden Gophers football head coach P.J. Fleck, you are going to have the opportunity to learn a whole lot about the young coach. The University of Minnesota announced that ESPNU will be airing a four-part series on the new coach in the coming weeks.

The series will debut on August 2 at 8:00 central. The series will continue for the next three Wednesdays after that. Each episode will be 30-minutes long and will also be available via ESPN’s streaming platforms if that fits your fancy.

The press release from the University gives the following description on the upcoming show:

"Being P.J. Fleck, co-produced by Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly and JM Associates, follows the energetic coach throughout the offseason, and documents him in various settings, which includes teams meetings, hospital visits and motivational speeches around the country. Fans will also get a glimpse of Fleck’s upbringing, including seeing his hometown, hearing from his family and understanding the personal impact of two major coaching influences in Mike Nolan (New Orleans Saints linebackers coach) and Jim Tressel (Youngstown State president and former Ohio State coach)."

Fleck takes over the Gophers from Tracy Claeys. Fleck last season was with Western Michigan and led the team to the Cotton Bowl with a 13-1 record. He was also named MAC Coach of the Year both last season and in 2014.

More from Sporting Sota

Fleck was named head coach of the Gophers on January 6. His energy and go-to phrases such as ‘elite’ and ‘row the boat’ have captured the attention of many Minnesotans. While some are skeptical and some are excited, there is no doubt that Fleck has many people talking about the Gophers. That in itself is a victory.

The Fleck era of Gopher football will officially get underway in just over a month. The first game of Fleck’s tenure is scheduled for August 31 against Buffalo. The game is set for 6 p.m. at TCF Bank Stadium. The non-conference schedule also has a date against Oregon State and home against Middle Tennessee State before Big Ten play hits.
