With rookies reporting to Minnesota Vikings training camp, let’s look at a few of the starting spots up for grabs.

For die-hard Minnesota Vikings fans, training camp marks the true beginning of the 2017 season. As players put the pads back on and go full-speed, training camp doesn’t lack the competitive nature that the regular season brings. Yet, instead of battling another team, players are battling each other. Some trying to position themselves as starters, while others are fighting to just make the roster.

This season’s camp has many intriguing battles. Over the offseason, the Vikings added many to the roster headlined by Latavius Murray, Riley Reiff and Dalvin Cook. But, they also lost key players, such as wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson, nickel corner Captain Munnerlyn and linebacker Chad Greenway. Not to mention, the Vikings let go of Adrian Peterson, who signed with the New Orleans Saints in free agency.

In turn, training camp has quite a few starting spots up for grabs that are worth monitoring in camp and the preseason. With rookies reporting on Sunday and practices beginning on Monday, let’s take a look at some of the top battles for the Vikings.
