Minnesota Twins get the luxury of playing another double-header on Thursday.

If you live in the state of Minnesota, or anywhere where the local Twin Cities TV channels are your channels of choice, and you were watching terrestrial TV, well, you missed a good chunk of your favorite programs. Severe storms rolled into the Twin Cities which means that everything stops and they need to warn the masses. A lot of rain also isn’t good when the Minnesota Twins are playing at home.

The rain that rolled in rolled the Twins’ scheduled game against the Indians on Wednesday into a split-doubleheader on Thursday. 1500ESPN reports that Thursday’s doubleheader will be played as a split-doubleheader with a 12:10 first pitch for the first game and a 6:10 first pitch for the second game.

Kyle Gibson will pitch the first game on Thursday as he was supposed to go on Wednesday night. Jose Berrios gets the evening tilt for the Twins. The Indians will be throwing Carlos Carrasco and Ryan Merritt in the double-header.

The Twins lost the first game of this series with the Indians on Tuesday night. Bartolo Colon, who has been pitching well for the team, got the start, but the Twins still lost 8-1. Miguel Sano did throw in a great play behind third base which made him look like a down right Gold Glover.

Minnesota’s series with the Indians is imperative if the team wants to get back in the American League Central race. The Twins currently find themselves in third in the division behind both the Indians and the Kansas City Royals. Minnesota is six games behind the Indians in the division. Granted, the Twins are much closer at closing in on a Wild Card spot.
