Following a 32-31 comeback victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Jake Andersen takes another crack at predicting the Minnesota Vikings 53-man roster.

A victory is nice, but the third preseason game still wasn’t encouraging for the Minnesota Vikings. Considered a dress rehearsal for the starters, the offense and defense didn’t look ready for the season. The offense ended with zero points in six drives, while the defense gave up two touchdowns to a weak San Francisco 49ers offense.

Nevertheless, when it comes to settling the 53-man roster for the regular season, the game helped make stronger cases for a few of the backup guys. In fact, the backups led the charge by scoring all 32 points in the second half, overcoming a 14-0 hole at halftime.

Through three games, it’s safe to say that a couple of preseason standouts are in good shape heading into the all important final preseason game that features the non-starters. While others are on the outside looking in, needing a spectacular performance to get them back in the conversation.

Knowing this, here’s an updated roster prediction after three preseason games.
