Special Teams

K: Kai Forbath

Cut: Marshall Koehn

More from Sporting Sota

Koehn blew it by missing an extra point against the Dolphins. The leg strength is intriguing, but there should definitely be concerns about his accuracy and Zimmer doesn’t want to go through a kicking situation like last year. Forbath is the safer bet, so I see the Vikings sticking with the veteran.

P: Ryan Quigley

Cut: Taylor Symmank

Quigley got all six punt opportunities in the final preseason game over Symmank, a sign he’s won the punting job. Personally, I feel the punting competition was settled last week.

LS: Kevin McDermott

Next: Looking back at our first roster prediction of the season!

The Minnesota Vikings will now wait a week and a half before hitting the field again with an opponent on the other side. The real action kicks off for the purple with a  Week One matchup with the New Orleans Saints with familiar face Adrian Petersen in their backfield. The Vikings and Saints tilt is set for September 11 as the first game of the annual opening Monday Night Football double-header on ESPN.
