Minnesota Vikings Week 2 preview at Pittsburgh Steelers

This one is a tough one. The fan in me wants to say the Vikings are ready for anything and can take it to the Steelers. The writer in me knows the Steelers like to start fast and pile the points. They are also the team that may be best suited to defeat the Vikings’ defense.
The Steelers start out quickly by putting together some nice drives early and come away with points on their first two drives. Bell seemingly gets his legs under him and he looks like the MVP candidate fans know him as. The purple struggle early against the speed of the offense of the black and gold.

However, after a few nice offensive drives of their own, Sam Bradford and the Vikings keep pace with the Steelers to be within three at halftime. Jerick McKinnon and Rudolph both help keep the defense at bay for the most part.
The second half starts off with a bang as things start to loosen up more for the Steelers. The high-powered offense gets out to a two-score lead by racking up scores by Brown and Bell. The defense of the Steelers then gets to Bradford a couple times and may gain a turnover.
The Vikings put together a good plan but ultimately are doomed by not being able to keep pace with the killer-B’s. Bell has over 100 yard combined and Brown racks up the catches once again and even gets into the end zone.

The purple make a good comeback effort but fall short in a game against a team I feel could make a strong run to the Super Bowl. Steelers win 27-20. Vikings’ fans can take solace in the fact that I tend to be wrong often’ hopefully this is one off those times.
