Minnesota Twins: Miguel Sano could be the Twins secret weapon
The Minnesota Twins have activated Miguel Sano which is a major step for the ball club.
This weekend’s series for the Minnesota Twins against the Detroit Tigers looked to be seemingly useless after Minnesota clinched a playoff berth earlier in the week, but then something interesting occurred on Friday. Miguel Sano returned to the ball field.
Sano had been out of the lineup since August 19 with a stress reaction to his left shin, according to MLB.com, but this week word had been going around that Sano could possible make a comeback. After a couple of days of workouts, Sano was activated and appeared in Friday night’s game.
Sano grounded out in his pinch hit appearance which is nothing special, but the presence of Sano is something special.

The Twins will give Sano the opportunity to prove that he is ready to return full-time this weekend against the Detroit Tigers. If nothing sets Sano back, there is nothing holding Sano back from being on the American League Wild Card Game roster. That is excellent news for the Twins.
Be it the Boston Red Sox or the New York Yankees that the Twins face on Tuesday night, the Twins will want Sano on the roster. Sano doesn’t need to be able to play in the field to have his presence felt either.
The Twins simply having Sano available as the designated hitter or as a pinch hitter would be a huge option for manager Paul Molitor. The Twins have a powerful offense, no doubt, but there is still no one that the Twins would rather have up late in a game with a big home run needed than Sano.

Minnesota has a lot of things going for it and the return of Sano is just another great piece to the puzzle. The Twins will have Ervin Santana on the mound to start with Jose Berrios ready to come out of the pen and now they have their secret weapon in Sano. Bring on Tuesday.
