Minnesota Vikings: Week 5 preview against the Chicago Bears
Game Prediction
A huge emphasis is on Minnesota running the ball well and stopping the run against the Bears. Along with turnovers, this is ultimately what the game comes down to.
Thus far, I have seen drastic improvement in the Vikings rushing offense and defense. While I don’t expect the combination of Murray and McKinnon to have a field day against the Bears, I see them being productive enough to help out the passing attack. In the process, Diggs and Thielen should have big days. If Bradford returns, their days as well as Rudolph’s gets even better.
Defensively, the priority should be stopping the run and forcing Trubisky to throw the ball. The Vikings have only given up 3.1 yards per carry this season, so there’s good reason to believe they can shut down their rushing attack. Much of that comes down to if the Vikings offense can limit turnovers and give the defense more time on the sidelines. If everything goes as planned, expect a rough first start for Chicago’s second overall pick.
With that, I have the Vikings chalking up a 21-17 victory over the Bears. They are a tough match at home, so look for a tight game until the end.
