Minnesota Vikings: Week 6 preview against Green Bay Packers
Score Prediction
This week is a huge opportunity for the Vikings. If they win, they can take over first in the NFC North and use the win as a rallying point behind Case Keenum. If they lose, they fall to .500, a couple of games back of first, and move on with a bad taste in their mouth. A taste that could prove difficult to get rid of moving forward.
In my mind, this is a statement game for Minnesota. A game that defines the makeup and character of this team. Given the unfortunate circumstances of the season, the Vikings can still show they have what it takes to make noise this season with a win over a solid Packers team.
With the game at U.S. Bank Stadium, I anticipate a large crowd going crazy for their guys in purple and gold. The players are going to feed off the crowd and give Rodgers the most issues he’s seen all season, including a couple of sacks and an interception. Look for a strong defensive game plan against Rodgers by Zimmer, who wins the battle this time around.
Offensively, Keenum is going to get the job done, take care of the ball and rely on his running backs to carry the load. I also see good games from Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph with Stefon Diggs out due to a groin injury.
While the game will be tight, the Vikings are coming out on top in this one and taking over the top of the NFC North. 24-21 Vikings.
