Brusdar Graterol might be a surprise pick here at the number five spot. There is no doubt that he’s currently the top pitching prospect in the Minnesota Twins farm system. However, Graterol is currently just 20 years old, playing in Double-A Pensacola and also on the injured list with a shoulder injury. Graterol may have been a season away from making his splash into the majors before the injury. Given the elbow injury, it’s more likely now that we don’t see Graterol in on the major league roster in 2019.

Graterol has an elite fastball that tops out over 100 miles per hour. The fastball alone has been enough for Graterol to move up quickly in the minors moving up a level each year and poised to possibly hit Triple-A in 2019 and possibly the Twins active roster prior to the injury. 2019 may not be the year but 2020 could be the year Graterol stakes his claim in the Twins rotation.

Hopefully, Graterol will come back strong this season from his shoulder injury. While it may be unlikely that he will make an impact on the active roster this season, he is progressing in a way that should have Twins fans very excited to see what he can do.
