Minnesota Vikings’ Receive Third Round Pick For Percy Harvin Deal

The Seattle Seahawks have won Super Bowl 48 and now the Minnesota Vikings have the final piece of their trade for Percy Harvin.

Because of the Seahawks 43-8 win on Sunday, that gives them the final pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. But this also means that the Vikings will receive a third round pick in this upcoming draft from Seattle, which will be the 96th pick overall.

Minnesota used the 25th overall pick from Seattle last year on cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who had a solid rookie season before having an ankle injury late in the season. The seventh round pick, 214th overall selection, was used on guard Travis Bond, who started the season on the Vikings practice squad but was picked up by the Panthers.

The Vikings now hold eight draft picks right now. That is subject to change with any trades or any compensatory picks gained from free agency. The powers that be could use that extra third round pick to possibly (and hopefully) fix their defense. Currently Minnesota is 31st in total defense.
