Minnesota Timberwolves fall to the New York Knicks

The Minnesota Timberwolves managed to get out to a lead, but also managed to blow it to allow the New York Knicks a comeback win from Madison Square Garden.

The good news is that Ricky Rubio was pretty darn close to the very rare quadruple-double with a nine point, 12 assist, 10 rebound and eight steal game against the New York Knicks. The bad news is the Minnesota Timberwolves spoiled the great performance by losing 107-102 in New York.

The Wolves were without a pair of starters with Kevin Garnett being out due to ‘rest’ and Kevin Martin being out due to a hand injury. Minnesota did score a pair of double-doubles from Karl-Anthony Towns who went for 25 points and 10 rebounds and Gorgui Dieng who had 14 points and 10 boards.

Andrew Wiggins was the only other Timberwolves player to score in the 20’s with a 23 point night. Zach LaVine was right behind with 19 points off the bench.

The Wolves played six off the bench and only three players off the bench scored. Lavine had a nice night, Shabazz Muhammad put in eight and Nemanja Bjelica scored one bucket for two points.
