Minnesota Vikings: Odell Beckham Jr. handed suspension for Vikings game

The New York Giants will likely be without Odell Beckham Jr. against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday after being handed a suspension.

Odell Beckham Jr. was highly involved in some extracurricular activities this past weekend against the Carolina Panthers. The highlight of which was Beckham targeting an unsuspecting Panthers player with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Beckham ran from 10-yards away and struck cornerback Josh Norman with a helmet-to-helmet hit which was a total blindside.

That was just one instance of Beckham’s day. In total, Beckham was flagged three times in the game and did not look very professional in any of his endeavors on the field in the Giants’ loss to the still undefeated Panthers

All of this has resulted in a one-game suspension for the Giants’ best wide receiver, but the star is appealing the suspension. The appeal hearing will more than likely be heard before Sunday night’s game so both Giants and Vikings fans will know if Beckham will be able to take to the playing turf at TCF Bank Stadium.

More from Minnesota Vikings

So far this season, Beckham has 13 touchdowns on 91 receptions for 1396 yards in 14 games. Last week against the Panthers, Beckham had a touchdown on six catches for 76 yards. The week before Beckham had two touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins. The only other multi-touchdown game this season for Beckham was in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints when he had three touchdown grabs.

Beckham had 12 touchdowns all of last season while appearing in 12 games.
