Looking to add some grit, the Wild acquired Mike Rupp from the Rangers for Darroll Powe and prospect Nick Palmieri, the Wild announced Monday
The Wild’s interest in Rupp is the size and toughness he brings, though he has little offensive upside as a low-line forward.
Rupp, 33, has 53 goals and 94 points in 565 games. He has 78 career fights.
Rupp will wear No. 27 for the Wild and will not play tonight, according to the team’s equipment manager.
