Former Vikings safety Joey Browner will represent Minnesota at the 2013 NFL Draft, the team announced Wednesday.
Browner will be at the NFL Draft in New York City to announce the second round pick on April 25. The Vikings currently have the 52nd-overall pick in the second round.
This is the third time that the NFL has used former players to announce Day 2 picks. Anthony Carter announced the selection of cornerback Josh Robinson, the Vikings’ third round 66th-overall selection, in the 2012 NFL Draft. The team had no second round pick since they traded up to select Harrison Smith in the first round.
Browner, the Minnesota’s first round pick of the 1983 NFL Draft, was selected to six Pro Bowls as a member of the Vikings. He has been involved with Twin Cities communities in public relations.
