5. Randall McDaniel

From his unique stance to his road-grading blocks, Hall of Famer Randall McDaniel was a ton of fun to watch.

More from Sporting Sota

McDaniel played in 12 consecutive Pro Bowls from 1989-2000, only not making it in his first and last seasons. The Vikings were almost always a good (regular season) team during my youth, and the offensive line was a major reason why. McDaniel was the anchor, and was always there, playing a remarkable 202 consecutive games. McDaniel helped pave the way for both Terry Allen and Robert Smith to have multiple 1000 yard rushing campaigns and was on one of the greatest offenses of all-time in 1998. If it were not for McDaniel, Todd Steussie, Korey Stringer (rest in peace) and the rest of the offensive line, those records would never have fallen.

Another cool memory was watching him occasionally line up at fullback in certain goal-line situations. Fat guy football is always a good time, and even though he did not score a touchdown until he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, watching him get to block with a running start was certainly fun. When McDaniel was elected to Canton in 2009, he was more than deserving. Hopefully the purple are able to get more legends into the Hall in the coming years.
