Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 Things Needed for a Turnaround

Get Healthy
Despite some of his offensive shortcomings, Ricky Rubio is the Timberwolves most important player. He is a plus defender at the point guard position, and makes the guys around him better offensively. Without dragging out any stats, the Wolves offense just does not look the same without him. The thought of an ever-improving Andrew Wiggins playing with a pass-first point guard the caliber of Rubio is extremely exciting. The biggest bummer from the Rubio injury, other than him missing all of this time, is that his jumper looked great and natural to start this season. I hope he is back for the game against Cleveland that I will be attending, and I hope his jumper didn’t get lost with all of the time off.
Of course, Ricky is not the only wounded Wolf. Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic have also been out for a substantial amount of time. Winning with any regularity is nearly impossible when that many important pieces are out. Getting healthy is imperative for this team to grow.
