9. New York Giants: Brandon Scherff, Tackle, Iowa – The Giants have had problems protecting Eli Manning for a while now, and it’s time to fix it. Scherff will more than likely protect Manning’s blindside, and he will fill a hole that is necessary to add for the Giants.
10. St Louis Rams: La’el Collins, Tackle, LSU – The Rams miss out on getting the top tackle in the draft in Scherff, but they are able to get one that’s not far behind in Collins. Collins was a solid offensive lineman for LSU and he is a monster. The Rams have had trouble protecting their QB in the past years — probably why Sam Bradford has been injured so much — but Bradford is gone and Nick Foles is the new man. Regardless, they need to protect him and give him time to get it to his playmakers.
11. Minnesota Vikings: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama – I know, the Vikings just traded for Mike Wallace, but Cordarrelle Patterson is still a big question mark, Jarius Wright is not a deep threat, and Charles Johnson can’t be counted on as a number 1 or 2 receiver. It’s not that Wide Receiver is a glaring need for the Vikings, but much like the Bears getting Kevin White, this is a value pick. Getting Amari Cooper and pairing him with his high school quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, would make this wide receiving corps that much tougher. The Vikings have multiple ways they could go with this pick such as cornerback, pass rusher, guard, or safety but the draft is deep enough in those positions that they can address it later on.
12. Cleveland Browns: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville – Man, those Browns don’t have much luck, do they? Manziel looks to be a bust (even after 1 year), Josh Gordon is suspended for a whole year, and now they just miss on a premier talent in Amari Cooper. Luckily, Parker is a very solid talent and could be A.J. Green 2.0.
