4. Richard Park Game Winner, Game 6 Against Colorado, 2003 First Round

(Sorry about the poor video quality. 2003 highlights can be hard to find.)

2003 marked the Minnesota Wild’s first trip into the Stanley Cup Playoff. After beating Colorado in Game 1 the Wild dropped the next three games, falling behind 3-1 in the series. It was started to look like the green behind the ears Wild would have their first postseason end quickly. However, they managed to win Game 5 3-2 in Denver to force Game 6 back in St. Paul. The game went into overtime tied at two. 4:22 into the first overtime session, Richard Park beat Patrick Roy for the game winner, setting up a classic Game 7 in Denver. Until that moment, the Wild’s playoff run seemed fun but like it would be quick. After Park scored, coming back to win the series felt like a real possibility.
