All your point guards belong to us. The Minnesota Timberwolves signed veteran Andre Miller on Wednesday, becoming the third point guard on the roster along with starter Ricky Rubio and freshly drafted rookie and Minnesota native Tyus Jones.

The upcoming season will be number 17 in the NBA for Miller. Miller made his visit with the Wolves on Wednesday with Head Coach/President Flip Saunders and GM Milt Newton and didn’t leave town without a deal with the club. Miller was signed for the veteran’s minimum on a one-year deal.

Last season, Miller played in 81 games between two teams: the Washington Wizards and the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 4.4 points a game with 1.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per. For his career, Miller averages 12.8 points per game with 6.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds. The last season that Miller averaged double-digits points was in 2010-2011 with the Portland Trailblazers.

Miller is a very smart veteran player and brings another level of leadership to a very young Timberwolves team. While signing another point guard wasn’t exactly needed, there is not a better value than getting Miller at the veteran’s minimum.

With 16 seasons under his belt, Miller isn’t a spring chicken. Miller is 39-years-old and will be the second oldest player on the team after Kevin Garnett.

Also being around so long, Miller has played for a good amount of teams. Miller broke into the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers who drafted him in the 1999 Draft with the eighth overall pick. Since then Miller has hit the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland, back to Denver, Washington and Sacramento.
