Minnesota Timberwolves Video: Andrew Wiggins dunks over J.J. Barea

Right now there is basketball being played in Canada. To be honest, that’s about all I know about it, except for one thing. I know that Andrew Wiggins is playing and he is dunking. He’s not ‘just’ dunking, no, he is dunking over former Minnesota Timberwolves hot and cold point guard J.J. Barea.

That dunk above happened on Wednesday night during a Tuto Marchand Continental Cup game in Puerto Rico according to our friends at Sports Illustrated. It was a tightly contest game between Canada and Puerto Rico, but the dunk with two minutes left camp helped give the Canadians a 78-72 victory.

Maybe you don’t remember, because I really didn’t. Wiggins and Barea were teammates last season for a spell. Barea was with the Wolves during tramp before being cut and returning to Dallas. Jose Juan Berra was a member of the Wolves franchise for three years.

One of the best part of the SI article is the fact that Barea is listed at six foot tall. That’s nothing against SI, it’s just great that Barea is listed at six foot all across the internet. Six foot is being pretty generous to Mr. Barea.

Let’s recap Wiggins season last year just because it was so nice. Wiggins was named Rookie of the Month four times in his path to being named the 2014-15 NBA Rookie of the Year. Wiggins played in all 82 games for the Wolves while averaging 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1 steal per game.

Improvement could be seen throughout all of last season from the former Kansas player. Hopefully in a couple months, Wiggins will be dunking over everybody while wearing a Wolves uniform in a Timberwolves victory.
