Before the Minnesota Twins won their sixth straight game, the team swapped relievers. J.R. Graham went to the 15-day disabled list and the team activated Blaine Boyer from that very list according to 1500ESPN. Graham pitched in Tuesday’s game before being placed on the DL and Boyer pitched  on Wednesday, the day of his activation.

Boyer seemed to regain his early season success in his return from the DL. Boyer pitched two innings and gave up only one hit on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays. Boyer was one of the top pitchers out of the Twins bullpen at the beginning of the season, but has recently fell on hard times. He missed the last 15 games with right elbow inflammation.

When Graham is able to be activated, no moves will need to be made. Rosters expand on September 1 and Graham’s activation date stands at September 10.

The bullpen looks to have righted the ship after it looked to be taking on a lot of water following the All-Star break. The addition of Kevin Jepsen has looked to be promising now after he has stepped up when Glen Perkins was ailing. Perkins is back which just bolsters the strength of the bullpen.

Boyer once was a major part of the bridge to Perkins, but now that role mainly belongs to Casey Fien, Jepsen and the remarkable Trevor May. The once starter, turned bullpen, back to the starting rotation and now back to the bullpen that is May has been an amazing part of the bullpen.

Next: Buxton will be okay!
