If you have TweetDeck, if you don’t you are doing Twitter wrong, you know that Twitter in Vikings land looks like a darn slot machine during the game and that is not going to change anytime soon. There are a couple added influences to how fueled up the Twitter machine will be on Monday night though.

First off, Chris Berman is doing the play-by-play of the game. While I’m not as much of a Boomer hater as some, I must admit that his Monday Night Football play-by-play is fairly rough. That makes sense though because he calls one football game a year. There’s no getting better if you only flex the muscle once a year. Plus, you probably can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
Second, Ed Hochuli will be the lead official for the game. Yes, everyone’s favorite attorney/ripped as heck NFL referee will also be part of the festivities on Monday night. He’s presence alone will result in a couple hundred tweets at least.
Third, it’s the opener. We all still care when it’s the season opener and that goes for any team’s season opener. The Minnesota Twins’ season opener on Twitter is always crazy too and by the time you get to the middle of May, well, the in game tweets are coming from the beat writers and a handful of others.
Here’s to hoping that the tweets on Monday night/Tuesday morning are all positive for the boys wearing purple.
