Minnesota Timberwolves: Kyle Lowry drops 40 as Raptors down Wolves
Apparently defense is optional even more than ever before for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves took on the Toronto Raptors in preseason action on Monday and lost 122-105 with a big showing from Kyle Lowry.
Lowry could not be stopped for Toronto on Monday night. Lowry dropped 40 points in the game and seemingly couldn’t miss. The Raptors’ starting point guard went 8-8 from the free throw line and 6-9 in three-point attempt. Lowry was the only Toronto player to score north of 14 points.
Old friend Anthony Bennett looked like Anthony Bennett in 20 minutes of play off the Toronto bench. Bennett, who the Wolves just released a couple weeks ago, only scored three points which all came off of free throw attempts.

The homecoming for Andrew Wiggins was pretty good in the scoring column. The reigning Rookie of the Year scored 21 points in 19 minutes of play. Andrew’s brother Nick Wiggins also got six minutes of play in their return home. Nick Wiggins scored four points in six minutes of play.
Only two other Timberwolves reached double-digits: Nemanja Bjelica and Gorgui Dieng. The rookie Bjelica played 31 minutes and scored 21 points. Dieng put in 11 points in 19 minutes of play.
After dropping 20-plus points in the last preseason game, Tyus Jones was held scoreless for the second time in three total games. Fellow rookie Karl-Anthony Towns found himself with only seven points in the game.
Kevin Garnett did not play, but the two other odd dogs did play 19 minutes. Tayshaun Prince scored five and Andre Miller scored seven.
The only starter to be a positive in the plus/minus was Lorenzo Brown.
The Timberwolves next play on Wednesday and stay in Canada to take on the Raptors again. The game will be played in Ottawa with tip off set for 6:00 central.
