Minnesota Timberwolves: Andrew Wiggins Pulls Off 720 Dunk
With the Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach Lavine already holding the last two NBA Slam Dunk Contest titles, his teammate Andrew Wiggins might have a few tricks in his bag for next year’s contest.
When people think about the last couple years of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, they think of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Zach Lavine, and rightly so. Lavine has won the Dunk Contest the last two years in a row.
All offseason we have seen nothing but workout videos from Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins. Most are him working on his craft with Pure Sweat trainer Drew Hanlen. Yesterday he put out a different clip.
Here is the clip.
This clip shows the amazing athletic ability Wiggins has. He is a quiet guy, but do not question his athleticism. Is Wiggins practicing for next year’s Dunk Contest?

Wiggins has always played above the rim and he would be an awesome challenger for Lavine. Putting these two in the Dunk Contest next year would mean another year of the young Timberwolves ruling NBA All Star weekend activities.
Over the last two seasons, since Wiggins, Lavine, and Karl-Anthony Towns have been in the league, they have been the stars of the All Star Weekend Saturday night activities.
Two years ago, Andrew Wiggins won the NBA Rising Stars Challenge MVP when he put up 8 dunks in that game. Next was Lavine, just dominating the Dunk Contest.
Last year, Lavine won the NBA Rising Stars Challenge MVP. He also defended his Slam Dunk Contest title in one of the best dunk contests in history. Rookie Karl-Anthony Towns won the NBA Skills Challenge as the first big man to take that title.

The skill and athleticism of the young Minnesota Timberwolves players has been on display for the last two years of the All Star activities. Hopefully this year we will see one of the young guys make the All Star team on Sunday night.
