Minnesota native Eric Decker signs with the Tennessee Titans
Minnesota native Eric Decker signs with the Tennessee Titans.
All good things must come to an end. That seems to be a common occurrence around here since that is how we started to break the news that the Minnesota Lynx lost their first game of the season. On top of it now is the fact that Minnesota native Eric Decker will not be signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
Some steam got going on the Decker to Minnesota train when it was announced that the New York Jets were going to trade or release the wide receiver. A couple days later it was announced that the Jets would just be simply releasing the former Minnesota Golden Gopher standout and made it even easier for the Vikings to snatch him. That didn’t happen over the weekend.
Soon after being released by the Jets, Decker visited the Tennessee Titans and that was it. Tennessee snatched up Decker, according to NFL.com and the choice of team makes sense for Decker if you like to follow his personal life.

Eric Decker is married to Jesse James Decker. Jesse James Decker is trying her hand at being a country music artist and if one wants to be a country music artist, Nashville is a pretty good place to be. As much as Minnesotans may want to believe that Minnesota is the best personal fit for Eric Decker, the best fit for he and his wife is probably being in Nashville where his wife can be closer to her profession.
The Vikings still look to have a decent receiving core without a Decker addition. Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen will be top targets for Sam Bradford and should be solid. The next tier of receivers starts to be quite sketchy though. Laquon Treadwell couldn’t find the field as a rookie and many believe that goes well beyond his injury issues. Michael Floyd signed on a very team friendly deal, but has recently been flagged for testing positive for alcohol during a house arrest in which he was to have no alcohol due to a DUI last year. Whatever does come of the lasted alcohol issue, Floyd will probably be suspended for a portion of the upcoming season due to that DUI.
