Vikings kickers make us want to kick ourselves in the head

Forbath got some game action last season after the Vikings finally cut bait with Walsh and didn’t exactly excite with his play. So far in two games this season, Forbath has missed extra points in both contests.

Now, both extra points didn’t change the outcome of either game, but haven’t we all learned before that it is a sign of things to come. Easy missed kicks will haunt at some point down the line and as Vikings fans are well aware, a missed kick at the most inopportune time can cost a team a lot of fame and winnings.
Not too many kickers are absolutely perfect these days, but they do need to be able to make PATs. Sure, the extra points are kicked from further away now, but they are still the simplest of chip shots for professional field goal kickers.
Forbath will probably be kicking for the Vikings next week, but his seat should not just be hot but starting to be on fire. The Vikings can’t afford to go down this road with a kicker again.
The Vikings have another kicker issue, that is what we learned.

We’ll see how the kicker and the rest of the team rebound in the third game of the season on Sunday. The Vikings will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from U.S. Bank Stadium for a noon game of former division rivals.
