Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins just had one of the best Halloween costumes of the year.

Joe Mauer was snubbed in the American League Gold Glove competition. Mauer wasn’t even named one of three finalists at the first base position despite the former catcher having a sparkling season at first for the Minnesota Twins. Mauer may have been snubbed there, but he will not be snubbed when it comes to Father of the Year votes.

It may be November now, which means it is officially the holiday season, but we need to live for Halloween just a little bit longer. On Halloween, the Twins were sharing a bunch of pictures of players dressed up for the holiday, but Mauer took the cake dressed up as Beast from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ with his twin girls both dressed as Belle.

Granted, we don’t know for sure it’s Mauer behind that mask, but Joe is too Minnesota nice to lie to us like that. I wouldn’t complain though if it was secretly former Mauer roommate Justin Morneau and we are soon in an episode of Scooby-Doo with TC the Bear unmasking the Beast to reveal it is actuall Morneau to everyone. A guy can dream, right?

Other Twins with solid costumes this year include Kyle Gibson’s family as Goldilocks and the Three Bears:

Eduardo Escobar as a pirate:

Brian Dozier’s costume was for the dogs:

A truly moo-ving costume from Kennys Vargas:

And Phil Hughes might have had the best joke costume of them all:

Hughes also had an epic last minute costume idea that I just might plan on wearing for next year:

Hopefully your Halloween was a safe and fun one. Let’s hope that we all have to cut the trick or treating off early next year in order to be home to watch the Twins play a baseball game.

Also, let’s hope the Twins social media team supplies us with plenty of ugly Christmas sweater pictures this holiday season. That truly would be quite the treat.
